Anne Huckerby

Founder & Therapist

Anne Huckerby has been a holistic therapist since 2004 when she qualified as a Reiki Practitioner.ย ย Since then she trained in many other Holistic therapies and has also trained as an Adult Education Teacher so that I can pass my knowledge on to others.

“I became interested in Holistic Therapies after having 2 spinal operations which left me with chronic pain.ย  The medical profession could not help any further other than managing my pain with drugs, so I decided to look for alternatives.

2011 bought a big change to me as I rented premises at Sharpeโ€™s Pottery Museum, so that I and other therapists had a safe place to work from.   I feel very privileged to be able to have worked in such a beautiful, listed building and also to have such great support from the Sharpeโ€™s Pottery staff.

In 2022 we moved Swadlincote Therapy Rooms to 11b Church Street, Swadlincote, were we continue to offer holistic therapies and training.  We also hire out the space to others for workshops and events.  The space is only a few minutesโ€™ walk to the town centre and is set in its own courtyard, allowing us to create a space of calm and tranquility in an ever increasing stressful world.

My love and enthusiasm for holistic therapies has led me to want to bring these fantastic stress busting therapies to as many people as possible.  It has meant that I have done various work for organisations such as Liberation Day (a local event for the over 55โ€™s), South Derbyshire Carers, Coping (Derby Pain Management support group), Mandela Centre in Derby, and many other charitable organisations.

Since 2020 and the Pandemic I was driven to make changes to the way I work and began to do a lot more teaching, and concentrating much more on energy therapies, such as Reiki and Crystal Therapy.  I have also trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner and my passion is helping people to improve their Mental Health and Self-Confidence through alternative methods.

In 2022 I trained as a Qi Gong Session Leader, and this has been a great addition to what I can offer to my local community and beyond.

My aim for the future is to continue to add to my skills as a therapist and bring stress relief and happiness to the people of South Derbyshire in any way that I can, and to also provide support for holistic therapists and others wishing to train in Holistic therapies.

Obviously, none of the above would have been possible without the support of my Husband Andy, my talented technical son, who has helped me get to grips with basic technology.ย  I consider myself to be a very fortunate person indeed!!!”
